About the Races 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Q. Are there any age restrictions for the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend races?

A. Participants for the Marathon, Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge, and Dopey Challenge must be 18 years or older. Participants for the Half Marathon must be 14 years or older. Participants for the 10K must be 10 years or older. Participants for the 5K must be 5 years or older and must be able to complete the 5K on their own. Children aged 4-13 can participate in the One Mile Run. The Kids Dashes include varying distances for ages 8 and younger.

Q. Is there a pacing requirement for the races?

A. There is a 16 minute per mile pace for the Walt Disney World® Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. There is no pacing requirement for runDisney Kids Races. It is suggested that participants train for a 15 minute per mile pace to allow time for restroom breaks, photo opportunities, and other diversions on the course.

Q. What happens if I can’t keep up with the pacing requirement?

A. Anyone unable to maintain the pace may be picked up and transported to the Family Reunion Area at any point along the course.

Q. Are the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend events walker-friendly?

A. Yes, walkers are welcome in runDisney events. Just be sure to maintain the minimum pacing requirement of 16 minutes per mile.

Q. Are participants allowed to wear a costume?

A. Costumes are permitted and encouraged at runDisney events! However, Disney’s costume guidelines must be adhered to. Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent. Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another guest. Costumes may not contain any toy weapons which resemble or could easily be mistake for an actual weapon. Masks cannot be worn and capes may only be worn if the length does not go below the waist. Guests who dress like characters may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other guests. Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other guests.

Q. Can I use headphones while racing?

A. Headphones can be worn but are discouraged due to audio messages that may be played throughout the course to ensure the safety of all runners.

Q. If my friend or family member is assigned to a different corral, can we change corrals?

A. Corral placement is based on each individual’s anticipated finishing time or submitted proof of time. The person placed in the faster corral is allowed to move back to a slower corral, but no one is allowed to move forward.

Q. Am I allowed to participate with a service animal?

A. No animals are permitted on the course. runDisney can offer human guides to assist registered participants with disabilities. Please contact us for more details.

Q. Are there any other restrictions I should be aware of?

A. For everyone’s safety, items including baby joggers, strollers, baby carriers, skates, scooters, bicycles, skateboards, canes, crutches, walkers, walking sticks and selfie sticks are prohibited from the course.

Registration 📋

Q. What is included in the race registration fee?

A. Each participant’s registration includes a commemorative shirt, race bib and meal upon completion of the race.

Q. Does my race registration include entry into the Disney Parks?

A. Race registration includes entry into the Disney Theme Parks only during the races , and a park ticket is not required to participate in the races.  Theme Park access during the rest of your stay is not included in the race registration fee and park tickets must be purchased separately.

Q. What do I need for my proof of time?

A. If you believe you will finish the Half Marathon in 2 hours 45 minutes or less or the Marathon in 5 hours 30 minutes or less, proof of time is required for start corral placement. This must be provided for each individual race from an officially timed race of 10K distance or longer reflecting results within the last 2 years. A valid proof of time must include the Name of Race, Distance, City, Date, Finish Time, and link to Results. Relays, self-timed, training, trail runs or virtual runs are not accepted as proof of time.

Q. Where do I pick up my race bib?

A. All participants must pick up their own race bib during scheduled hours of the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo located at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Q. What do I need to bring to pick up my race bibs?

A. To pick up your race bibs, you must bring a valid photo ID (driver’s license, passport, Military ID, Government issued ID) and your signed waiver. Waivers will be available online approximately 2 weeks before the race. Parents or guardians of any participants under 18 years old  must complete and sign the waiver for their children and pick up their race bib.

Q. Can I pick up the race bibs of another participant?

A. Individuals will not be able to pick up race bibs on behalf of others.

Q. Can I get a refund on my race registration?

A. No, entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Post Race 👏👏

Q. Where can I find my race results?

A. Race results will be posted online on the Results page of the runDisney website and it is here you will be able to print your finisher certificate.

Q. How do I find my race photos after the race?

A. All photos taken by photographers during the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend events will be linked to your bib number. There is no need to stop to collect PhotoPass cards or link to MagicBands. You can view and buy your runDisney photos online or on the My Disney Experience app. Photos will be available within 48 hours of the race. If you have purchased Memory Maker you will get unlimited digital downloads of all your Disney PhotoPass photos and videos from your runDisney event.

Transport 🚗

Q. Is event transportation provided during the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend?

A. Complimentary bus transportation from your Disney Resort Hotel is included to and from the race start and finish lines. Transportation times and pick-up locations will be posted on signs in the lobby of each runDisney Host Resort.

Q. Will there be road closures or delays?

A. Yes, road closures will be in place and delays are expected. Participants and their guests are encouraged to utilise the runDisney event transportation.
